True horsemen are constantly learning and teaching. Each riding discipline has a foundation based on theory and principles that students study and learn for entire careers. These techniques are challenged by a multitude of variables including the temperament and conformation of an equine partner, mental preparation, physical abilities, natural talent and much more. Additionally, horsemanship extends beyond riding to include topics like proper stable and pasture management, nutrition, fitness, rehabilitation and hoof care.

Where do you turn for assistance? Direction is usually provided by your primary trainer (even professionals turn to colleagues for coaching!), veterinarian and farrier. In the digital era, equestrians are fortunate to have online educational resources for additional information. Where do you go for help?

Equestrian Coach was founded by legendary horseman, Bernie Traurig, one of the greatest teachers and advocates of the American System of Forward Seat Riding- the foundation of hunter seat riding in the United States. Mr. Traurig first rose to national attention when he was named champion of both the coveted AHSA Medal Finals & the ASPCA Maclay Medal Finals in 1961. He went on to represent the United States Equestrian Team and eventually reached the pinnacle of each of the International Equestrian Olympic disciplines: Show Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing.

Mr. Traurig’s understanding of the sport coupled with the respect he has garnered from equestrian colleagues has allowed him to implement his quest for innovation and create a robust collection of online videos that are available anytime from anywhere.
