Overview: Renowned western culture and equine artist Shannon Lawlor sought to elevate her fine art brand to better reflect the depth of her legacy, the authenticity of her subject matter, and her evolving role in the performance horse art landscape. Guided by The Arc of Stewardship™, K.M. Thornton & Co. partnered with her to craft a comprehensive brand refinement—shaping strategic foundations and aligning public-facing touchpoints to honor her heritage while enhancing relevance in today’s market.

Conducted a comprehensive brand and industry audit—including historical review, persona development, and strategic interviews—to ground all refinements in authenticity and audience insight.

The Arc of Stewardship™ in Application

I. Brand Audit & Discovery

We began with a deep-dive brand audit, researching the origins and evolution of Shannon Lawlor’s brand, including:

- Historical review of previous visual and verbal identities

- Persona development and audience segmentation

- Strategic interviews to uncover founder’s ethos and brand soul

This audit served as the foundation for all future decisions, ensuring the refined brand would remain true to its authentic Western roots while engaging discerning collectors and new audiences.

II. Refined Brand Identity

One of the most symbolic elements of the refinement was the update to the treasured brand mark, featuring Bucephalus—the legendary steed of Alexander the Great. The "honed" emblem:

- Honored historical and artistic significance

- Embodied strength, wisdom, and enduring legacy

- Created visual cohesion across print, digital, and packaging for promotion

We also developed a new mission statement and voice guide, ensuring all touchpoints now communicate with clarity, resonance, and alignment to Shannon’s values.

III. Website Redesign & Migration

In collaboration with the artist, we led a complete website redesign and content refresh, including that transitioned ShannonLawlor.com from a legacy platform to Shopify, providing a refreshed and scalable digital foundation.

- Rewritten brand narrative and biography

- Intuitive user experience for collectors and curators

- Thoughtful integration of e-commerce, gallery showcases, press, and journal

- Responsive design aligned with luxury art and design standards

The new digital presence is not only elegant, but it also functions seamlessly on a new Shopify e-commerce platform.

IV. Cinematic Brand Video

We concepted and produced a narrative-driven video, combining cinematic visuals with a voiceover script that reflected Shannon’s artistic ethos and dedication to preserving Western heritage. This video serves multiple purposes:

- A signature brand piece for media and sponsorship

- A storytelling anchor for galleries and events

- A dynamic complement to static artwork and exhibitions

V. Sponsorship & Strategic Partnerships

Provided strategic guidance and collateral for sponsorships and event collaborations, securing relationships that expanded visibility and industry influence

- Messaging and deliverables for brand activations and event collaborations

- Developed and updated promotional calendar deliverables per contracts for internal use to ensure all tasks work cohesively in message and delivered on time
